Research Progress on Enhancement of Decarburization Performance of Calcium-based Adsorbents by Inert Supporting

Abstract
Large-scale CO2 emissions will give rise to a range of environmental and climate issues.Calcium-based sorbents have emerged as one of the most promising methods for large-scale CO2 removal due to their cost-effectiveness and high theoretical adsorption capacity.However,the CO2 adsorption capacity of calcium-based sorbents is susceptible to deterioration caused by sintering at high temperatures.Therefore,the sintering mechanism of calcium-based sorbents at high temperature is summarized,and the research status regarding inert support that can enhance the sintering resistance of calcium-based sorbents is reviewed.Depending on whether metal oxides react with calcium oxide or not,inert supports are divided into bimetallic oxides and single-phase metal oxides.The mechanism of improving the anti-sintering properties of calcium-based sorbents by three typical supports such as Ca-Al mixed oxide,CaZrO3 and MgO is emphasized.Finally,prospects and suggestions for enhancing decarbonization efficiency through incorporating inert support in calcium-based sorbents are proposed.关键词
