Abstract
Seed coat color is a crucial phenotypic feature in plants,whose accurate quantification is vital for variety classification,genetic analysis and agricultural applications.Using 274 soybean core germplasm as an association population,seed coat color was measured with a colorimeter based on CIBLAB to obtain six color parameters.Principal component analysis was used to identify the best parameters for characterizing soybean seed coat color.Based on this,genetic diversity and genome-wide association analysis were conducted to identify SNP loci significantly associated with soybean seed coat color.Soybean seed coat color was classified into four groups,including yellow,green,black,and other group.Principal component analysis indicated that yellow was the predominant color,and the yellow-blue value(b*)was the best parameter for characterizing soybean seed coat color.Genetic diversity analysis showed that yellow-related traits exhibited rich genetic variations among genotypes,with a coefficient of variation ranging from-35.53%to 48.19%.Genome-wide association analysis using 172 soybean genotypes with yellow seed coat color detected a total of 462 SNP loci significantly associated with the b*parameter,including 287 novel loci and 175 loci that coincide with the previously reported I and L1 loci known to control soybean seed coat color.Precise quantification of seed coat color using the colorimeter is a new method that could objectively verify soybean seed coat color.Using this method,several new SNP loci significantly associated with soybean seed coat color were detected,which would help to further elucidate the genetic mechanisms regulating soybean seed coat color.关键词
