Abstract

In2S3/MgIn2S4 heterojunction photocatalysts were prepared by the solvothermal method using In2S3 flower spheres and MgIn2S4 precursors as raw materials.The crystal structure,morphology,optical and photoelectrochemical properties of the prepared samples were characterized by XRD,SEM,DRS and electrochemical measurements.The photocatalytic activity of In2S3/MgIn2S4 heterojunction photocatalysts was determined by visible-light degradation of methyl orange.The experimental results showed that In2S3/MgIn2S4 heterostructure effectively enhanced the visible-light absorption and photogenerated electron-hole separation of MgIn2S4,which greatly improved the photocatalytic degradation performance.In2S3/MgIn2S4-2 had the highest photocatalytic activity when the mass ratio of In2S3 to MgIn2S4 was 0.03∶1.The degradation of methyl orange by In2S3/MgIn2S4-2 reached 96.1%,after 40 min of visible-light irradiation.After four cycling experiments,the heterojunction material can still retain good photocatalytic activity,indicating that it possesses good reusability.
