Analysis of Mineral Resources Characteristics and Mining Investment Environment in North Macedonia

Abstract
As an important intersection of Eastern and Western civilizations and commerce,North Macedonia serves as a bridge and link of the Eurasian continent.With its abundant mineral resources,the country holds significant geopolitical and economic significance,making it an important target country for Chinese enterprises seeking to establish international mining investment partnerships.The analysis of the mineral resources characteristics and mining investment environment can provide reference for Chinese companies to"go global".This work evaluated the mining investment environment of North Macedonia and analyzed the favorable and unfavorable conditions for mining investment by systematically sorting out the basic national conditions,geological background,mineral resources overview and development status quo.Results suggest that as a non-EU member state and a European country with a relatively well-developed institutional system,the overall investment environment in North Macedonia is superior.With the continuous improvement of the level of mineral exploration and development,this country has a greater attraction to small-and medium-sized investors from other countries including China.However,it also faces the risks of unstable policies and regulations,strong environmentalism,unreliable geological and technical data,and old business operation model.In addition,five investment directions and considerations were proposed for the mining industry in North Macedonia,including mineral exploration and development,mining equipment and technical services,infrastructure construction,environmental protection and sustainable development,and also education and training.关键词
