The Influencing Mechanism of Recreationists'Well-being on Urban Forest Trails

Abstract
⑴Background——The fast pace of life and the great pressure of life in modern society have many negative effects on people's health and well-being.Recreational activities on urban forest trails are an important way for the public to self-heal and obtain psychological happiness.Place attachment is generally regarded as an antecedent or mediating variable in environmental psychology studies.Further verifying the moderating role of place attachment in the influencing mechanism of recreationists'well-being will help better construct urban forest trails that promote public health and well-being. ⑵ Methods——The research data came from a survey conducted by the research group on the recreation-ists in Fuzhou Fudao from September 26 to October 6,2022,and a total of 436 valid questionnaires were ob-tained.Based on the integrated model of Stimulus-Organism-Response-Moderator,a conceptual model and re-search hypotheses on restorative perception,positive emotion,recreationists'well-being and place attachment were proposed.Then,a measurement scale was identified to assess restorative perception,positive emotion,recreationists'well-being,and place attachment.Finally,the structural equation model was used to test the rela-tionship between the variables,and the moderating effects was analyzed and tested by multiple linear regression. ⑶ Results——First,restorative perception consists of three dimensions:escaping from reality,attractive-ness and compatibility.Among them,the attractiveness of urban forest trails has a significant positive impact on the recreationists'well-being.However,the direct effects of escaping from reality and compatibility on the recreationists'well-being are not significant.Second,escaping from reality and compatibility can indirectly affect the recreationists'well-being through the mediating effect of positive emotions.However,the mediating effect of positive emotions on the relationship between attractiveness and the recreationists'well-being is not significant.Third,the moderating effect of place attachment on the relationship between attractiveness and the recreationists'well-being is not significant.Therefore,place attachment cannot regulate the direct effect of restorative perception on the recreationists'well-being.Fourth,place attachment can enhance the impact of positive emotions on the recreationists'well-being.Therefore,place attachment can regulate the mediating effect of positive emotions be-tween restorative perception and the recreationists'well-being.In addition,there is a threshold interval for the moderating effect of place attachment. ⑷ Conclusions and Discussions——First,place attachment has a significant impact on the recreationists'well-being.Optimizing the design of the trails to match recreational needs and trail functions is crit-ical,which includes perfecting the infrastructure of the landscape nodes and designing visual corridors to create a high-quality sensory experience.Meanwhile,local cultural elements are integrated into the infrastructure of the trails to enhance emotional connection and sense of belonging.Second,for individuals with low place attachment level,it is essential to enhance the attractiveness of the environment through diverse and visually attractive land-scapes.For individuals with high place attachment level,it is essential to create quiet areas,optimize trail paths and carry out some trail activities with high participation and strong sense of experience.Third,positive emotions play a mediating role in the recreationists'well-being.It is necessary to pay attention to diverse emotional experi-ences in recreational activities.关键词
