Evolution Characteristics of Acoustic Emission during Shear Failure of Granite with Different Degrees of Discontinuity Penetration

Abstract
To investigate the acoustic emission evolution characteristics of granite shear failure under different structural plane penetration degrees,a true triaxial rockburst test system is used to conduct direct shear tests on granite with three types of structural plane penetration degrees of 0%,40%and 80%.The acoustic emission signals during the loading to failure process of granite are collected,and their evolution characteristics are studied.The results show that,(a)the structural plane penetration degree has a significant impact on the evolution characteristics of acoustic signals during the fracture process of granite in direct shear tests,and five characteristic values,including the maximum hit count,the cumulative ringing count increase rate before shear slip failure,the"step"height of the cumulative absolute energy curve,the degree of frequency division phenomenon of high-amplitude points,and the mean value of the RA value,all decrease as the structural plane penetration degree increases;and(b)the acoustic emission hit count exhibits a"relative calm period"phenomenon,with the ringing count exceeding 30,000 times,and the RA value and absolute energy remaining high for a certain duration,with a wide frequency range of high-amplitude point distributions.关键词
