Abstract
Conducting sociological research on engineering is not only an intrinsic requirement for the development of sociological theory but also holds significant importance and value for a deeper understanding and resolution of many practical and theoretical issues in engineering practice.Also,it plays a crucial role in promoting the development of"engineering studies"in both depth and breadth.While the sociology of science and the sociology of technology both originated in the West,the sociology of engineering was first established in China.To advance the continuous progress and innovation of the sociology of engineering,it is necessary to carefully review the new developments in this field in recent years.Although a comprehensive review is challenging,this paper briefly summarizes the new advances in the sociology of engineering in recent years,briefly introduces the highlights and characteristics of the articles published in this special issue,and looks forward to the future development of the sociology of engineering in China.关键词
