Influence of office chair chest support on office sitting posture and comfort

Abstract
The forward leaning posture is a common posture for office workers to operate equipment and engage in desk work.Over time,this can lead to fatigue in the shoulders,neck,and back,as well as hunchback.At present,there is relatively little research on fatigue intervention for forward leaning office posture.In order to study the effect of chest support on the comfort of office sitting posture,a chest support device was used for simulation testing.This study selected 12 healthy individuals without a history of back pain as the subjects.The body pressure distribution test method and free modulus amplitude estimation method were used,and the Tactilus real-time pressure distribution measurement system was used to collect pressure distribution data on the buttocks of the subjects under two different office sitting positions,computer work,and text work.Three related indicators of surface pressure distribution on the buttocks,legs,and ischial tuberosity area of the office chair,as well as a spinal morphology curve,were used to analyze the differences in pressure changes in the seating area across different experimental groups.Combined with the subjective evaluation of office comfort by the subjects,the intervention effect of chest support on the office chair was verified.The results showed that the chest rest of the office chair had a significant impact on the main support area of the buttocks,and the contact area of the ischial tuberosity area significantly increased after using the chest rest,improving the distribution of seat pressure and comfort.The curves of the head,neck,and lower back were also significantly improved,which is beneficial for promoting spinal health.The subjective evaluation results indicated that chest support had the greatest impact on improving comfort in the shoulders,neck,and back,while comfort in other areas increased to varying degrees according to different office postures.Therefore,chest support has a positive impact on office sitting posture and comfort.关键词
