Impact of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on benign prostatic hyperplasia
摘要
Abstract
Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)is a prevalent condition among elderly men,characterized by a high incidence rate.The etiology of BPH is complex and influenced by various factors.Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are a broad category of com-pounds that structurally resemble hormones and can interfere with the human endocrine system.The growth of the prostate gland is regu-lated by sex hormones,and exposure to endocrine disruptors may impact this regulatory process,potentially leading to the onset and pro-gression of BPH.This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of current research regarding the effects of endocrine disruptors on pros-tatic hyperplasia,focusing on the mechanisms through which they promote this condition.Additionally,it proposes preventive measures aimed at reducing exposure to these harmful substances in order to enhance public understanding of the relationship between endocrine disruptors and prostatic hyperplasia while offering references for mitigating their adverse effects.关键词
