《孟子》中涉"水"论述的英译评析
English translation of water-related expressions in Mencius:a case study of English Version of Mencius in"Library of Chinese Classics"
摘要
Abstract
Water is not only the source of life,but also the carrier of human culture.With the help of"water",Men-cius clearly illustrates such Confucian thoughts as rule by benevolence,way of governance,human kindness,ways of learning,handling and behaving for gentlemen.Taking the English version of Mencius which is included in"Library of Chinese Classics"as an example,this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of translating water-relat-ed expressions,and puts forwards some suggestion on improvements,which may provide some experience for classics translation of Chinese culture in the future.关键词
