Abstract

The aim of the article was to assess the effect of dietary probiotic addition on cattle growth performance and serum indexes by Meta-analysis.Retrieve articles related to the impact of probiotics on cattle growth performance collected from PubMed,Web of Science,CNKI,Vipp database,and Wanfang databases from January 2007 to March 2024.According to the requirements of this study,15 randomized controlled trial articles were selected,including five in English and 10 in Chinese.EndNote X9 software and RevMan 5.3 software were used to manage literature,and meta-analysis was performed on the extracted data.The main focus was on analyzing the effects of probiotics on various growth and serum indexes in cattle,and subgroup analysis was conducted on the effects of single probiotics and composite probiotics on cattle growth performance.The results showed that adding probiotics in daily feeding had a certain impact on the growth performance of cattle,significantly improving their average daily weight gain(ADG),average daily feed intake(ADFI),and had no significant effect on feed to weight ratio(F/G).The concentrations of total protein(TP),albumin(ALB)and blood glucose(GLU)were increased,but the concentrations of globulin(GLB)and urea nitrogen(BUN)were not significantly affected.The study indicates that the addition of probiotics in daily feeding can enhance the growth performance of cattle and improve serum indexes.
