Abstract
The incidence of oral diseases during pregnancy and lactation is high,and dentists need comprehensive and systematic expertise to provide safe and effective treatment for pregnant and lactating women.Since 2018,the Depart-ment of Dentistry of Peking Union Medical College Hospital has carefully designed a national continuing education pro-gram of"Standardized Training for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Oral Diseases of Pregnant and Lactating Women"based on core competency according to the growing demand for dental treatment of pregnant and lactating women,in which the core competencies that dentists should be equipped with in the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases in preg-nant and lactating women are put forward:comfort concept and full life-cycle oral health management concept,theoreti-cal knowledge and clinical skills,patient care,doctor-patient communication and teamwork ability,and continuous learn-ing and knowledge updating ability.During the 6 years of implementation of the project,up to 201 dentists have been trained to be equipped with comprehensive ability in diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases in pregnant and lactating women,promoting the development of standard dental treatment technology for pregnant and lactating women,and obtain-ing good social benefits.This paper summarizes and analyzes the course design,characteristics,implementation experi-ence and future prospects of the project,in order to provide references for promoting and implementing the training of standardized dental treatment for pregnant and lactating women and cultivating dentists with comprehensive exper-tise in dental treatment for perinatal population in China.关键词
