Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of the combined application of Vitapex paste and Minocycline Hydrochloride Ointment in the treatment of periapical periodontitis and periodontitis.Method:This study was conducted from January 2022 to December 2023,including 102 patients with periapical periodontitis and periodontitis at the People's Hospital of the Daxing'anling Region.Patients were assigned to groups using a draw-ball method,with odd numbers in the control group(n=51)and even numbers in the experimental group(n=51).Both groups received root canal treatment.The control group was treated with iodophenol and a cotton swab filling,and iodine glycerin injections into the periodontal pockets.The experimental group was treated with Vitapex paste filling and Minocycline Hydrochloride Ointment in the periodontal pockets.The total treatment lasted 4 weeks in both groups.The bacterial clearance rates(globular bacteria,clostridium bacteria,linear bacteria,Bacillus and spirulina),periodontal conditions[periodontal pocket depth(PD),bleeding index(BI),plaque index(PLI),gingival index(GI)],inflammatory cytokines[interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-17(IL-17),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),C reactive protein(CRP)],and oral health impact[oral health impact profile-14(OHIP-14)score]were compared between the two groups.Result:The bacterial clearance rates of globular bacteria,clostridium bacteria,linear bacteria,Bacillus and spirulina in experimental group were higher than those in control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of PD,BI,PLI,GI,IL-6,IL-17,IL-1β and CRP in experimental groups were lower than those in control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,all the scores of OHIP-14 in experimental group were lower than those in control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Vitapex paste and Minocycline Hydrochloride in the treatment of periapical periodontitis and periodontitis effectively enhances bacterial clearance and improves periodontal health conditions,reduces levels of inflammatory cytokines,and improves oral health,proving to be an efficient treatment regimen.关键词
