Seismic Dynamic Response Analysis of a Wind Power Tower

Abstract
The earthquake excitation seriously threatens the normal and stable operation of wind tower.Studies are carried on the seismic response of a wind turbine tower under two measured natural waves and one artificial wave excitation,and the impact of different seismic wave dimensions on the tower response.The results indicate that stress concentration is prone to occur near the wind turbine tower entrance.The maximum stress of the wind turbine tower occurs at the top of the tower,and its maximum stress does not exceed 160 MPa,which is lower than the yield strength of the wind turbine tower of 345 MPa.Under three types of seismic waves,the maximum displacement of the wind turbine tower occurs at the top of the tower,and the maximum displacement in the X direction does not exceed 0.1 m(with the blades located in the X direction),which is much smaller than the distance between the blades and the tower of 1.02 m.The seismic waves in the X direction have a significant impact on the stress at the top of the wind turbine tower,which is related to the direction where the concentrated mass of the blades and nacelle is located.The variation of seismic wave dimension has a relatively small impact on the displacement of the top of the tower.The influence of horizontal seismic waves on bending moment is significant,while the influence of vertical seismic waves on bending moment can be ignored.关键词
