Railway Express Logistics Network Cargo Flow Distribution Based on Multiple Transportation Organization Modes

Abstract
In response to the underutilization of freight capacity resources in the railway express logistics network and existing transportation organization modes,this paper took into account the transportation demands of express goods between cities with express nodes.A mixed-integer programming model of railway express logistics network cargo flow distribution was constructed,which incorporated the characteristics of four transportation organization modes:special express freight trains,fast-speed express freight trains,conventional express freight trains,and luggage compartments on passenger trains.The main decision variables are the quantities of different types of freight trains between each origin-destination(OD)pair under the different types of transportation organization modes.The objective was to minimize the operational costs of railway express logistics.A two-stage hybrid algorithm was designed to solve the model,where the first stage determines the number of each type of train operating under each cargo flow OD,and the second stage further determines the train's routing path.The railway express logistics network composed of 10 national distribution node cities is used as a case for experiments,and the genetic algorithm was coded in Python and using Gurobi optimization software to solve the problem.The results show that the method can equilibrium allocate the demand for the railway express logistics network and effectively reduce the operation cost.关键词
