Abstract
Currently,the satellite internet industry has made significant progress,and the development path for mobile intelligent terminals to support satellite communication is becoming clearer.From 2023 to 2024,multiple foreign satellite companies,represented by Starlink,have undertaken systematic construction and remarkable trial achievements in enabling direct satellite connections for existing terminals.The future development path of direct satellite connections for mobile phones is showing a phenomenon of"numerous schools of thought contend".This article takes Starlink's direct-to-cell technology for mobile phones as an example to specifically analyse the pros and cons of the technical route for direct satellite connections for existing terminals.It also examines the challenges faced by this technical route in the industry and ultimately provides an analytical conclusion on whether China is suitable for developing direct satel-lite connection technology for existing terminals.The recommendation is for China to vigorously develop Non-Terrestrial Network(NTN)technology routes and expand applications based on the existing satellite systems.关键词
