Abstract

Seamless fiber terahertz integrated communication has become a promising technology in the 6G field.Electronic terahertz communication systems have the advantages of high integration,miniaturization and potentially low cost,but their disadvantages are small bandwidth and high levels of harmonic interference.To this end,a bidirectional gated recurrent unit(ResBi-GRU)model based on residual learning is proposed as the post-equalizer of this communication system.This model can make use of the property of residual learning to learn the residual between input and output,and thus simplify the complexity of the model without causing performance loss.The experiments verify that in a seamless fiber-optic terahertz integrated communication system,the data transmission rate of discrete multi-tone modulation(DMT)signals through 5 km fiber and 1 m 209 GHz terahertz signal reaches 74.82 Gbps under 20%soft-decision forward error correction(SD-FEC)threshold(2.4×10-2).Compared with the method without residual learning,the transmission rate is increased by 80Mbps and the space complexity is reduced by 50%.
