Abstract
Objective To explore the independent risk factors associated with poor olfactory function recovery in patients with chronic sinusitis accompanied by nasal polyps post-surgery.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of 120 patients with chronic sinusitis combined with nasal polyps treated at Xinyang Central Hospital from January 2019 to December 2023.The study focused on the rate of poor olfactory function recovery after surgery and its related factors.Both univariate and multivariate analyses were performed on the factors related to olfactory recovery.Results Among the 120 patients included in the study,28 patients(23.33%)experienced unsatisfactory olfactory recovery following surgery.Logistic univariate analysis revealed significant differences in olfactory recovery in relation to disease classification and staging,the site of lesions,the presence of allergic rhinitis,and Lund-Kennedy scores(P＜0.05).Logistic multivariate regression analysis identified disease stage classification,lesion location,presence of allergic rhinitis,and Lund-Kennedy scores as independent factors affecting olfactory recovery in patients with chronic sinusitis accompanied by nasal polyps(P＜0.05).Conclusion Poor olfactory function is relatively common after endoscopic surgery in patients with chronic sinusitis combined with nasal polyps.The incidence may be related to the grading and staging of the condition,the location of the lesions,the presence of allergic rhinitis,and the Lund-Kennedy score.关键词
