Abstract
Objective To assess the microbial quality of drinking water using the membrane filtration method and the multiple tubes fermentation method.Methods A total of 100 drinking water samples collected by the Xinxiang Center for Disease Control and Prevention from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected for the study.All samples were tested using both the multiple tubes fermentation method and the membrane filtration method.Based on the differences in testing protocols,the results were divided into the study group(multiple tubes fermentation method)and the control group(membrane filtration method),and the detection rates and microbial results in drinking water were analyzed.Results The pass rate for inspections in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).In terms of microbial detection in drinking water during wet and dry seasons,the total coliforms and mixed bacteria detection rates were generally consistent between the two groups with no statistically significant differences(P＞0.05).However,the detection rates for thermotolerant coliforms and Escherichia coli were significantly better in the study group compared to the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).Conclusion The multiple tubes fermentation method demonstrates superior efficacy in detecting Escherichia coli,thermotolerant coliforms,and overall pass rates compared to the membrane filtration method,highlighting its clinical application value in testing the microbial quality of drinking water.关键词
