Abstract
In order to solve the problems of single-sided welding and double-sided forming without groove and automatic high-speed welding of the new TA3 titanium plate joints for ships,an automatic deep penetration TIG welding pressure frame device with integrated functions such as laser seam tracking and flexible clamping was developed.The TA3 titanium plate was flat-welded using a high-efficiency automatic deep penetration TIG welding process.The surface quality,macro-scopic morphology,microstructure,and mechanical properties of the welded joints were characterized by appearance inspec-tion,penetrant testing,X-ray flaw detection,and metallographic analysis.The results show that the weld surface and heat-affected zone are silver-white in color,with no defects on the weld surface,good weld formation,complete penetration,and no undercut,cracks,or lack of fusion defects.Both the base metal and the heat-affected zone have equiaxed α-phase struc-tures,while the fusion zone and the center of the weld seam have lamellar and acicular α-phase structures,with dense and uniform grains,which have the effect of strengthening fracture toughness and hindering crack propagation.The tensile strength of the joint exceeds the tensile strength of the base metal by more than 2.4%,and the fatigue life of the joint is greater than 107 cycles,with good mechanical properties.The welding speed has broken through 0.4 m/min,providing a new solution for the efficient production and quality assurance of new TA3 titanium structures for ships.关键词
