Abstract

As a new cooling technology,radiative sky cooling obtain cooling energy from outer space,has broad prospects in terms of energy-saving cooling.This paper studies the cooling performance of radiative cooling materials with different spectral characteristics under subtropical humid and hot climate conditions.The influence of weather parameters on the potential of radiative cooling is discussed.The results show that solar irradiance,atmospheric precipitable water vapour,and cloud cover in the sky all affect the performance of radiative cooling.When the precipitable water increased from 22.8 mm to 40.0 mm,the maximum net cooling power of ideal broadband,ideal selective and actual radiative cooling materials decreased by 23.8%,18.3%and 20.1%,respectively.In high-temperature and high-humidity areas such as Guangzhou,the cooling effect of RSC materials is limited under cloudy conditions.While under sunny weather,the ideal broadband radiative cooling materials can obtain a larger net cooling power,and the ideal selective radiative cooling materials can obtain a lower temperature.The research results prove that radiative sly cooling has certain cooling potential and application prospects in hot and humid climates such as Guangzhou.This study provides a guideline for the application and improvement of the radiative sky cooling technology in subtropical regions.
