Abstract

The fluorite ore deposit cluster in southern Anhui is located in the northeastern segment of the fluorite metallogenic belt that spans southern Anhui and northern Jiangxi.This region is abundant in fluorite resources and has seen significant prospecting achievements in recent years.Based on a systematic collection of previous data and the latest exploration results,this study probes into the ore-controlling factors of the fluorite deposits in southern Anhui,which are identified as regional geochemistry,NE-NNE trending faults and fracture zones,mid-late Yanshanian acidic magmatism,ring structures,wall rock lithology and facies,and specific wall rock alterations.The fluorite deposits in the region mainly formed in the mid-late Yanshanian period(<145 Ma)and are predominantly post-magmatic hydrothermal filling deposits.Regional faults control the distribution of fluorite belts,and their natures influence the shape,scale,quality,and spatial distribution of the ore bodies.The primary ore-hosting geological bodies are mid-late Yanshanian porphyritic,pseudo-porphyritic granite,(biotite)monzogranite,followed by tuffaceous siltstone and metamorphosed rhyolite,and to a lesser extent,argillaceous carbonate and clastic rocks.Consequently,the inner-outer contact zones of mid-late Yanshanian acidic magmatic rocks in southern Anhui,areas with ring structures indicating magmatic emplacement,geochemical fluorine anomalies,silicification,and other low-temperature hydrothermal alteration combinations are key indicators for fluorite prospecting.
