摘要

Abstract

Poor economic viability is one of the factors hindering the large-scale promotion of CO2 geological storage.Conducting CO2 geological storage alone cannot meet the economic demands of engineering projects.Instead,combining CO2 geological storage with other energy extraction systems is an inevitable trend to improve the flexibility,economic viability,and safety of CO2 storage technologies.Therefore,the working principles and basic characteristics of typical CO2 geological storage combined with heat extraction and energy storage utilization are introduced and discussed in this review paper.Recently,experimental projects have been initiated for enhanced CO2 geothermal systems and CO2 plume systems.Here,exploration and analysis are conducted on reservoir parameters,well parameters,and sequestration potential,and we find that the economic viability of geothermal systems needs to be improved.Compressed CO2 storage and CO2 geothermal energy storage are still in the theoretical research phase,primarily focusing on feasibility and economic analysis.Overall,CO2 has the potential to enhance the efficiency of heat extraction and energy storage systems.Yet,the interaction mechanisms of CO2 within reservoirs remain unclear,and a comprehensive safety assessment framework for heat extraction and energy storage has yet to be established.Moreover,there is still a considerable gap that must be overcome before widespread application of CO2-based heat extraction and energy storage technologies can be achieved.Therefore,in the future,feasible CO2 geological storage combined with heat extraction and energy storage utilization can be promoted by improving the thermal storage efficiency of geothermal systems,developing combined energy extraction systems,and enhancing theories of fluid flow,heat transfer,and reactions in energy storage systems.
