Abstract
Throughout its century-long history,Tongji Planning has consistently made the modernization of Chinese cities its core mission.It has deeply integrated modern-ization concepts with urban development practices,actively driving the process of ur-ban modernization in China.Since its inception,Tongji Planning has adopted modem-ization ideas as its guiding philosophy,combining them with the Humboldt educa-tional model to pioneer the earliest urban planning education in China.This ap-proach has integrated the concept of modem urban construction into teaching and practice,fostering early explorations into the modernization of Chinese cities.Guided by the core value of"serving the people,"Tongji Planning upholds the spirit of"per-fection,pragmatism,problem-solving,and innovation."It has completed numerous significant national construction plans and contributed notably to projects such as the Shanghai World Expo,the Beijing Sub-center,and the Xiong'an New Area.By inte-grating professional practice,education,research,and application,Tongji Planning continues to generate innovative momentum for the modernization of Chinese cities.It explores the concept of"City-being",promotes digital simulation platforms for ur-ban planning,conducts research on the coordinated development of urban clusters,advances dual carbon goals,and constructs the"Brain-society"urban development model.In the face of significant challenges such as global climate change,shifts in urban population structures,rapid advancements in information technology,and the need for coordinated national spatial development,Tongji planning practitioners are guided by a vision of three harmonies:between humans and nature,among people,and between the past and the future.They are committed to injecting continuous vi-tality into the modernization process of Chinese cities and urban planning through proactively planning for the future of cities.关键词
