摘要

Abstract

To study the expansion and valve opening behavior of high-capacity batteries under different heat box test conditions,280 Ah battery for energy storage is used,the hot box test is conducted on the state of charge(0%SOC,100%SOC)under different temperature(130℃,145℃and 160℃)and time(30 min,120 min)conditions.Above 130℃,the surface temperature rise of the battery with 100%SOC is higher,indicating the existence of self heating behavior in the battery.Under the condition of 145℃,the internal resistance of the battery with 100%SOC is higher than others,indicating that the battery has self-heating at this temperature,which leads to higher internal temperature,greater damage to the internal electrolyte and separator.At 145℃,using the Antoine equation,the internal pressure is calculated to be about 0.69 MPa,the battery vent device opens.At 145℃,the volume expansion of the battery reaches its maximum value(about 700 mL,about 35%of the initial volume).At 160℃,the battery without clamps further expands in volume and explodes,thermal runaway does not occur on the battery with clamps of 100%SOC.
