Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Microchannels with Interrupted Water Droplet-Shaped Ribs

Abstract
To enhance the comprehensive performance of the interrupted microchannel heat sink,water droplet-shaped rib columns were wedged in the interrupted area compared with the interrupted and straight microchannels.This comparison aimed to investigate the heat transfer,flow resistance,and comprehensive performance of the microchannel heat sink.Results indicate that,within the studied Reynolds number range,the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop of the interruptedly ribbed microchannels are,on average,17.22%and 20.62%higher than those of straight microchannels,and 9.76%and 23.53%higher than those of interrupted microchannels,respectively.Additionally,the comprehensive performance evaluation coefficient of the interruptedly ribbed microchannels is,on average,3.01%higher than that of the interrupted microchannels.Compared to the former two,the combination of interrupted structure and water droplet-shaped rib-column demonstrates superior heat transfer performance in two-phase flow heat transfer applications.关键词
