A Study on the Integrated Between the Military Settlements of Changzhen Military Garrison in the Ming Great Wall and the Ming Tombs
摘要
Abstract
Changzhen Military Garrison is one of the nine border regions and eleven garrison towns of the Ming Great Wall that has the closest relationship with the Ming Dynasty imperial tombs. The military settlements in the crossed territories of the two regions underwent four interconnected construction phases:the Yongle Initial Establishment Period, the Jingtai-Hongzhi Fortification Period, the Early Jiajing Fort Gate Construction Period, and the Late Jiajing to Late Ming Improvement Period. In terms of the relationship between guarding the tombs and bordering areas, there were three interconnected management stages:separation, integration, and mutual defense among the border, tombs, and capital.Ultimately, this led to the formation of an interconnected deployment where the two are interdependent,as well as a unique"Ten Gates"interconnected landscape. This study not only helps clarify the interconnected relationship between Changzhen Military Garrison of the Ming Great Wall and the Ming Tombs, but also provides important theoretical support for the interconnection, protection, and utilization of these two major cultural heritages in Changping District,Beijing.关键词
