Abstract

Objective To explore the application value of the new swept-source anterior segment optical coher-ence tomography(SS-AS-OCT)device(CASIA2)in the imaging diagnosis and three-dimensional reconstruction of ante-rior segment foreign body chestnut thorns.Methods 34 patients(34 eyes)admitted to Hebei Provincial Eye Hospital from August to October 2023 due to eye injuries caused by chestnut stings were selected.CASIA2 images of these patients were retrospectively(localized)analyzed and reconstructed in three dimensions.Results Among the 34 patients(35 eyes),28(82.4%)were male and 6(17.6%)were female;There were 20 cases(58.8%)in the right eye and 14 cases(41.2%)in the left eye.Age 35~78 years old,average age(59.12±8.03)years.The chestnut spines of the anterior seg-ment of the eye showed strong reflection in CASIA2 images,including 17 cases(50.0%)of deep corneal foreign bodies,12 cases(35.3%)of scleral foreign bodies,and 5 cases(14.7%)of corneal combined scleral foreign bodies.3D recon-struction image technology can locate and display foreign objects in all directions.Conclusions CASIA2 can accurately locate and measure the parameters of the anterior foreign body chestnut thorn,and clearly show the adjacent relationship of surrounding tissues(especially 3D reconstruction technology).These advantages provide an objective basis for the selec-tion of clinical surgery methods,and have important guiding significance for the diagnosis and treatment of anterior seg-ment foreign bodies.
