Abstract

The prevalent primary and secondary salinization in the Qingtongxia Irrigation District severely limits the sustainable development of agriculture.This study aims to propose an optimal model using EM38-MK2 data to predict soil salinity in the profile layers and quantitatively analyze the spatial distribution pattern of soil salinity.Univariate linear regression,multivariate linear regression,and stepwise regression methods were employed to investigate the interpretative models between EM38-MK2 measurement data and soil salinity in the profile layers of the Qingtongxia Irrigation District.Based on these models,a regression-kriging interpolation method was utilized to explore the spatial distribution pattern of soil salinity in the profile layers.The results showed that:① The EM38-MK2 electromagnetic conductivity meter demonstrated optimal performance in measuring the electrical conductivity of shallow soil layers,with the ECh0.75 measurement mode demonstrating good stability.② The combination of EM38-MK2 with the SR model effectively elucidated the distribution of soil salinity in the profile.③ Soil salinity in the Qingtongxia Irrigation District displayed a spatial distribution characterized by higher salinity in the northwest and northeast regions,while lower salinity was observed in the western region.The overall salinity level is moderate,particularly in the 21~40 cm soil layer,where the salinity content is highest,and some areas have severe salinization.Water and salt migration,along with leaching and deposition effects,further contribute to significant salt accumulation in this layer.
