Abstract
Objective To investigate and analyze the present situation of complementary food addition in infants and young children aged 6 to 24 months in rural areas of Guanzhong County,Shaanxi Province,and the KAP questionnaire survey of caregivers on complementary food addition,in order to provide a scientific basis for formulating reasonable supplementary feeding schemes for infants and young children and science education plans for their complementary food addition.Methods The children aged 6 to 24 months in rural areas of Guanzhong County,Shaanxi Province were selected by random sampling,a self-designed questionnaire was used to conduct the survey,and the data were statistically analyzed.Results The complementary food addition of infants and young children aged 6 to 24 months in Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province was unreasonable.In the survey,the proportions of rice,flour and cereals,formula milk powder,eggs,dark vegetables and fortified iron were 91.46%,75.65%,78.41%,77.32%and 54.39%respectively.Among them,the lowest proportions were fish and shrimp,animal offal and beans.The time of adding complementary food was relatively late,with an average time of more than 6 months.Caregivers of infants and young children in this region have a positive attitude towards adding complementary foods but lack reasonable knowledge about adding complementary foods.Only 29.2%of caregivers can correctly answer the time to add complementary foods to infants and young children.Conclusion In rural areas of Guanzhong,Shaanxi,there are not enough types of complementary foods for infants and young children,and the time of complementary foods is late and the frequency is lower than the recommended frequency.The main caregivers lack reasonable knowledge about complementary foods,so it is necessary to popularize relevant knowledge about complementary foods for infants and young children in Guanzhong,Shaanxi.关键词
