Abstract

To investigate the thermal characteristics of lithium cobalt acid battery in the process of FSEC,the internal resistance of the battery under different temperatures and different soc(battery charged state)is obtained through HPPC experiment(mixed pulse power characteristic test).The internal resistance of the battery is fitted with temperature and soc values,and then the entropy thermal coefficient of the battery is obtained by balancing potential method.Then,a heat generation model of lithium cobalt oxide battery is built according to Bernardi equation.Compared with most previous studies with sole consideration of the impacts of soc on the battery heat generation model,we investigate the influence of temperature and entropy heat coefficient on the heat generation model.The simulation data of our heat generation model is compared with the temperature rise data.The maximum error is less than 4.1%.Compared with the results of previous research,our heat generation model achieves a higher accuracy.Finally,the thermal characteristics of the battery module under different racing conditions are simulated and analyzed.The maximum temperature is higher than 35℃,and the maximum temperature difference is over 5℃.It is imperative to design a proper cooling system for the battery module.
