Abstract

The stability of the engineering rock mass and nodal seepage are significantly influenced by the nodal shear expansion properties of the structure's surface rocks during cementation.By choosing structural faces with vari-ous angles while ensuring that the shear direction is consistent with the direction of the structural face,as well as by conducting indoor compression-shear tests and PFC numerical simulation tests,the mechanical characteristics and damage characteristics of the structural face rock with cementation effect are studied from macroscopic and fine viewpoints.The findings indicate that,assuming the structural surface is cemented:(1)The rock specimen is exten-sively shattered after damage,and the damage form is more complex when the structural surface does not correspond with the shear surface.(2)The angle α between the structural surface and the shear surface affects the shear strength of the rock specimen.When the angle α is between 0°and 60°,the rock exhibits its greatest shear strength,and when the angle α is between 60°and 90°,it reaches its maximum shear strength.(3)As the clamping angle αincreases,the shear displacement rises noticeably from the start of loading until the emergence of fractures.(4)The normal stress increases to encourage cemented part damage before the clamping angle α reaches 75°,and it increa-ses to limit cemented part damage after the clamping angle α reaches 75°.The concepts and techniques for the re-search can serve as a guide for analyzing the mechanical qualities and features of damage to structural surface rocks during cementation.
