Study on the correlation between systemic inflammatory biomarkers and hepatitis C virus RNA load

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlation between systemic inflammatory biomarkers,such as lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio(LMR),neutrophil-to-monocyte ratio(NMR),neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR),platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR),systemic immune-inflammation index(SII,i.e.platelet count×neutrophil/lymphocyte count),and HCV RNA loading in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection.Methods:One hundred and ninety-six chronic hepatitis C patients without other liver diseases and major diseases from Dalian were selected as the study subjects,and 2 mL peripheral blood was collected for blood routine testing.The viral load of HCV RNA was determined by a fully automated nucleic acid isolation,purification,and detection system.Correlation analysis and comparison were performed between the viral load of patients and LMR,NMR,NLR,PLR,SII,and the relationship between the above indicators and HCV RNA load was studied.The results of viral load detection were expressed in logarithmic form with a base of 10.Results:Spearman correlation analysis showed no correlation between HCV RNA load and indicators such as LMR,NMR,NLR,PLR,and SII(P＞0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the distribution of indicators such as gender,age,LMR,NMR,NLR,PLR,and SII among different HCV RNA load groups(P＞0.05).Conclusions:This study finds that there is no tight correlation between these inflammatory indicators such as NMR,LMR,NLR,PLR,SII and HCV RNA viral load and which cannot be used to assess the level of HCV RNA load in patients.关键词
