Radiomics in Differential Diagnosis between Benign and Malignant Thyroid Nodules:a Meta-analysis

Abstract
Objective:Systematically assess the value of radiomics in distinguishing benign and malignant thyroid nodules.Given the large number of microscopic features that can be extracted from standard medical images,this study aims to evaluate the potential of radiomics as a comprehensive,fast,and non-invasive diagnostic method.Methods:Literature on identification of thyroid nodules by radiomics was searched from Chinese and English databases until December 4,2023.Relevant literature was collected according to inclusion criteria,quality evaluation was conducted using QUADAS-2 scale,author information,nodule status,analysis software and other data were extracted,and Meta-analysis was performed using Meta-DiSc1.4 and State16.0 SE software.Results:A total of 47 literatures were included,with 9361 cases of thyroid nodules.The results of meta-analysis showed the diagnostic indicators of imaging,including combined sensitivity(Sen)0.87,specificity(Spe)0.82,positive likelihood ratio(PLR)5.12,negative likelihood ratio(NLR)0.17,diagnostic odds ratio(DOR)32.51,and area under SROC curve 0.9174.The results show that radiomics has high sensitivity and specificity in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules.Conclusion:As a new non-invasive diagnostic tool,radiomics shows high accuracy in the differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules.In the future,radiomics is expected to become an important auxiliary means for the accurate treatment of thyroid nodules.However,this study has some limitations,including uneven geographical distribution and study heterogeneity.Future studies should expand the sample size and conduct multi-center,prospective studies to further verify the results.关键词
