On the Life Postures of Female Characters in John Christopher
摘要
Abstract
The unique life postures of women in John Christopher are indispensable participants and constructors in Christo-pher's life process.An in-depth analysis of the life postures of female characters in John Christophe is an important way to grasp the deep themes and value connotations of John Christophe.The first type of female image is associated with Christopher through the medium of"lust",represented by Mina,Ada,and Ana,who gradually help Christophe's mind to become sound in pain and despair.The second type of female image represented by Luisa,Amalia,and Andonard,with their diverse sense of responsibility in their life postures,enable Christophe to step out of his relatively narrow individual life and begin to approach the public.The third type of female image,represented by Mrs.Krich,Sapina,and Gracia,guides Christopher to constantly surpass himself with a peaceful state of life posture,allowing him to reflect on life from the height of cosmic consciousness and ultimately find the peace of the soul.The female image is not only a backdrop for Christopher,but also a driving force and guarantee for Christo-pher's river of life to flow further and wider.关键词
