Abstract

The study aimed to establish a combination of in vitro and clinical efficacy evaluation methods for foundation products.The coverage,whiteness,waterproof and sweat resistance effects were evaluated by in vitro tests,where CR ratio,Individual Type Angle(ITA°)and chromatic aberration(∆E)were measured as the evaluation indicators by standard black/white cardboard,artificial leather and artificial sweat.In the clinical assessment,the anti-stain,waterproof,sweat resistance effect of the foundation products were evaluated through the ∆E change,before and after the treatment of products by staining,wetting,and sweating on forearm skin.There were significant differences in CR ratio of different types of samples on the standard black and white cardboard(P<0.05).ITA° of artificial leather had a significant increase after treatment(P<0.05).The color difference ∆E value of black cloth after dipping test was greater than 1.5,and the color difference ∆E value of leather before and after treatment with water and artificial sweat was less than 1.5.Clinical assessment showed that ∆E<50%,which had no significant difference in human skin color,before and after the test(P>0.05).The change trend of in vitro efficacy evaluation test was basically consistent with that of the visual evaluation and clinical assessment,indicated that the in vitro and clinical efficacy evaluation methods of foundation products are intuitive,quantifiable,and can be used to evaluate the efficacy of foundation products.
