摘要

Abstract

Oxidative coupling of methane(OCM)for ethylene formation,which is more economical and environmentally friendly compared with the traditional process in producing olefins,has attracted extensive attention recently.However,the low selectivity of products and safety concerns of mixing methane and O2 inhibit their use in commercialization.Solid oxide fuel cells and electrolyzers are capable of addressing the above problems owing to the easy electrochemical control and the oxygen ion membrane structure.Additionally,this technique is able to couple the electricity generation or H2O and CO2 electrolysis,which can significantly promote commercial value.The research progress of OCM via solid oxide fuel cells and electrolyzers was reviewed,and the advantages and disadvantages of different types of catalysts were analyzed.The reaction mechanism of electrochemical OCM was also discussed.In the future,it is necessary to further develop ion-electron mixed conductor materials with methane activation ability as catalysts and explore the reaction process with high-temperature in-situ detection technology and combined simulation calculation.
