Abstract
Objective This study aims to investigate the fluid management in cardiac surgery during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) at hospitals in China,and to deeply understand the diversity in fluid management practices in cardiac surgery across different hospitals. Methods Through an online survey,data were collected from 102 hospitals of various scales in China. The survey focused on hospital grade,annual volume of surgeries,preferences,and decision-making processes in fluid management. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and the differences were compared in key variables between large and small hospitals. Results Most respondents were from third-tier hospitals,which on average had 4.7 cardiac surgery operating rooms,with the annual volume of surgeries concentrated below 1,000 cases. In terms of fluid management,maintaining colloid osmotic pressure was the most concerned characteristic,and fluid management in the ICU was considered to have the greatest impact on surgical outcomes. In the choice of colloid priming fluids,there were significant differences between large and small hospitals,especially in the use of hydroxyethyl starch,with a noticeably higher usage rate in small hospitals. Conclusion This study reveals the diversity of perioperative fluid management and the impact of hospital scale and cardiac surgery teams on the choice of fluid management strategies.关键词
