Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of continuous nursing based on empowerment theory on the self-management ability of young and middle-aged patients with chronic heart failure ( CHF ).Methods Convenience sampling was used to recruit 150 young and middle-aged CHF patients who were admitted to Shanxi Bethune Hospital between September 2020 and September 2022.They were assigned into an observation group and a control group through random number table method,each with 75 cases.The control group received routine continuous nursing,while the observation group received continuous nursing based on empowerment theory.The self-management ability,physical function,medication adherence,and readmission rate were compared between the two groups.Results After 3 months of intervention,the observation group had higher scores than the control group in the various dimension scores such as daily life management of the Coronary Heart Disease Self-Management Scale,the total score of the Chinese Mini-Physical Performance Testing,and the total score of the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale ( all P<0.05 ),and the above scores of both groups were higher than those at 1 day before discharge ( all P<0.05 ).The readmission rate within 1 year was lower in the observation group than in the control group ( P<0.05 ).Conclusion Continuous nursing based on empowerment theory can improve the self-management ability,medication adherence,and physical function of young and middle-aged patients with CHF,and reduce the readmission rate.关键词
