Abstract

Objective To investigate the current knowledge,attitude,and practice status of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid di-et among different populations in Zhangjiakou area,and analyze its influencing factors,in order to provide direction for diet-ary nutrition recommendation and education of n-3 PUFAs.Method A stratified random sampling method was used to se-lect 330 healthy individuals from 6 districts and counties in Zhangjiakou from August 2022 to August 2023.A self-designed questionnaire survey was conducted,which included general information and n-3PFUAs knowledge,attitudes,and practice.ANOVA and t-test were used to analyze the differences in knowledge,attitudes and practice scores,and multiple stepwise linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of knowledge,attitudes and practice.Results The total score of knowledge,attitude and practice was(74.36±23.51)points,knowledge being(27.12±8.98)points,attitude being(26.82±9.66)points,and behavior was(20.42±7.82)points.The survey results showed that there were differences in the to-tal score of KAP in terms of age,marital status,place of residence,income level,and education level(all P<0.05);In ad-dition,the results of multiple stepwise linear regression analysis showed that marital status(t=3.127,P=0.002),place of residence(t=2.294,P=0.022),income level(t=2.730,P=0.007),and education level(t=4.062,P<0.001)were the main influencing factors on KAP total scores;Pearson correlation analysis showed that knowledge,attitude and behavior were all positively correlated,and the correlation of knowledge was larger(r=0.714,r=0.671,P<0.01).Conclusions Different populations in 6 districts and counties in Zhangjiakou region have different levels of knowledge,attitudes,and practice on dietary intake of n-3PFUAs.Therefore,it is necessary to recommend and educate the population on dietary in-take of n-3PFUAs from various aspects of knowledge,attitude and practice according to the characteristics of the popula-tion,and strengthen publicity and education from the knowledge level has a greater effect on improving the practice.
