Effects of early PN combined with EN on nutritional status,triceps skinfold thickness,and gastrointestinal reactions in patients after surgery for hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of early parenteral nutrition(PN)combined with enteral nutrition(EN)on nutritional status,triceps skinfold thickness,and gastrointestinal reactions in patients after surgery for hypertensive intrace-rebral hemorrhage(HICH).Methods Totally 150 patients who underwent surgery for HICH in the hospital between Janu-ary 2021 and July 2024 were selected and randomly divided into PN group(75 cases)and PN+EN group(75 cases).The former was given conventional treatment and PN,while the latter was given early PN combined with EN on this basis.Nu-tritive indexes,triceps skinfold thickness,immune function,and the occurrence of gastrointestinal reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After 14 days of treatment,the levels of hemoglobin(Hb),serum albumin(ALB),and prealbumin(PA)in PN+EN group were significantly increased,and higher than those in PN group(P<0.05).Triceps skinfold thickness of PN+EN group was significantly increased after 14 days of treatment compared with that before treat-ment and after 7 days of treatment,and was larger than that of PN group(P<0.05).The levels of CD3+,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+were significantly increased,and the level of CD8+was significantly reduced in PN+EN group.The levels of CD3+,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+in PN+EN group were higher than those in PN group,and the level of CD8+was lower than that in PN group(P<0.05).The total incidence rates of gastrointestinal reactions in the two groups were close(P>0.05).Conclusion Early PN combined with EN can effectively improve nutritional status in patients after surgery for HICH,increase triceps skinfold thickness,and enhance immune function.关键词
