Abstract

As an important place for people to shop,relax,and communicate,the spatial environment and cultural atmosphere of farmers'markets have attracted more and more attention from the public with the development of the economy.However,the renewal and renovation of the traditional farmers'markets focus more on the improvement of the spatial environment,and pay less attention to the cultural atmosphere of the market.The paper takes Fengmen Cross Street in Suzhou as an example,analyzes its existing business formats,and concludes that there are phenomena,such as mixed business formats,unclear positioning,and lack of cultural heritage in Fengmen Cross Street.Based on the unique"hustle and bustle atmosphere"of Fengmen Cross Street,the market culture is incorporated into the renovation of the market,and the improvement suggestions,such as strengthening market symbols,activating market culture,and preserving market life,etc.,are proposed to address its existing problems.The paper provides a reference for the development of Fengmen Cross Street and other similar farmers'markets.
