The Embodiment of Semiotics in Station Buildings along Yunnan-Vietnam Railway
摘要
Abstract
Yunnan-Vietnam Railway is the first meter-gauge line from Kunming in Yunnan Province to Hanoi in Vietnam in southwest China,and is also a valuable industrial heritage of China.The station buildings along the railway carry the history of the region and the evolution of human culture,which have far-reaching historical influence and important research value.The station buildings along the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway contain more iconic elements with artistic value,which are regarded as the most direct way to convey the local culture.Based on the principle of Pierce's semiotics,the paper analyzes three kinds of symbols,including image symbols,directional symbols,and symbolic symbols,to reveal the symbolic characteristics of the station buildings along the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway,and to explore how the signage can show and continue the local cultural connotations of the surrounding areas.关键词
