Abstract
Santorini is located at the southernmost tip of Cyclades Islands in the Aegean Sea.Relying on the unique volcanic terrain,Mediterranean climate and cultural background,the island has a rich variety of settlement forms,which has unique architectural features.This paper extracts the correlation between the natural conditions around the settlement and the morphological features of the settlement by means of semiotic methods,and sorts out the symbolic characteristics of buildings at different scales.The settlement formation conditions are summarized into four types of plain,cliff,slope,and coast,and the typical settlement forms are extracted respectively.The architectural symbols in the settlement are summarized into four types of landmark,street,architecture,and decoration,and the typical characteristics are extracted.This paper summarizes the settlement symbols and architectural symbols with characteristics of Santorini,providing symbolic basis and techniques for subsequent creation.关键词
