Abstract

For identifying and distinguishing the fault types of common partial discharge in 10 kV switchgear cabi-net,a platform for simulation and detection of partial discharge faults in switchgear cabinet is set up,a kind of partial discharge identification method based on the characteristic quantities of ultrasonic signals is proposed,the transient impact of ultrasonic signals during partial discharges is extracted and the probability density distribution of the ultra-sonic signals is used to discriminate the type of discharges,and the probability density distribution of ultrasonic sig-nals generated by four different partial discharge models are compared and investigated.The probability density dis-tributions pattern of the transient impact quantities of ultrasonic signals generated by four different partial discharge models are compared and studied.The results show that with the increase of voltage level,the curve is shifted to the higher transient impact quantity and shows'multi-peak'shape.The curves generated by the same type of faults are highly overlapped,and the curves generated by different types of faults have obvious differences,which can be used to identify the type of partial discharge in the 10 kV switchgear cabinet.
