Study on the Influence of Particle Basic Properties on Soil Engineering Properties

Abstract
The coupling effect of particle size and mineral composition of soil particles on their internal structure affects their engineering me-chanical properties.In order to gain a deeper understanding of the basic properties of soil and improve the safety and economy of engineering construction,this article analyzes the particle size distribution and mineral composition of soil samples from different regions.Then,through di-rect shear tests and permeability tests,the influence of particle size and composition on the shear strength and permeability coefficient of soil is analyzed.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The particle size distribution and mineral composition of soil samples from differ-ent regions have certain differences,and there is an inherent relationship between particle size and mineral composition;(2)As the particle size decreases,the cohesion of the soil increases and the internal friction angle of the soil decreases;The surface viscosity of particles increa-ses,and the cohesion of soil increases accordingly;(3)The decrease in particle size leads to a decrease in the permeability coefficient of the soil;The surface viscosity of particles increases,and the permeability coefficient of the soil decreases accordingly.关键词
