A approach for seismic resilience design of buildings

Abstract
Research at home and abroad mainly focuses on seismic resilience assessments of buildings such as hospitals and schools,but the methods for seismic resilience design of buildings are still in a blank state.This paper described the concept and connotation of building seismic resilience,highlighting the differences from traditional seismic design,and proposed the basic idea of achieving seismic resilience in buildings through conceptual design and computational design.The basic seismic resilience requirements of"three objectives"were established to ensure structural safety,meet the predetermined functionality and rapid recovery,and a"five links"building seismic resilience design step including determination of resilience objectives,structural safety design,seismic resilience conceptual design,post-earthquake functional verification,and functional rapid recovery strategy was constructed,which was a complete set of building seismic resilience design methodology.Finally,the preliminary design was carried out for a hospital building,and the design results showed that the seismic resilience design method proposed in this paper could realize the transformation from structural safety to functionality and rapid recovery,which preliminarily verified the reasonableness of the design method.The method proposed in this paper can provide feasible ideas for the resilience seismic design of buildings,and can also provide a reference and basis for the seismic resilience design of other infrastructure projects.关键词
