Abstract
The development and direction of Chinese agriculture,rural areas and rural people are both the key to achieve Chinese modernization and the fundamental basis for China to face momentous changes of a like not seen in a century.The paper elaborates on the connotation,opportunity and chal-lenges in the new journey and momentous changes,and with special stress on challenges to agriculture,rural areas and rural people.The paper suggests to keep pace with the trends,to make innovations,to reform,and to practice.The paper advises to build multi-polarization and multilateral situation in diplo-macy and foreign trade,and to build a unified national new market system with well-functioning govern-ment,efficient market,and capable industries.The paper proposes five key issues including promoting the process of Chinese modernization in agriculture and rural areas,pursuing the joint reform of urban-rural social security system and rural collective property rights system,promoting the integrated urban-rural development centered on county seats,promoting common prosperity covering rural low-income group,and integrating smallholder farmers to modern agriculture development.关键词
