Research on the Impact of E-commerce Development on Carbon Emissions in the Logistics Industry:A Spatial Econometric Analysis Based on Provincial Panel Data

Abstract
This study explores the impact of e-commerce development on carbon emissions in the logistics industry,based on panel data from Chinese provinces spanning 2013 to 2021.Using the global entropy method,the study measures the level of e-commerce develop-ment across provinces and employs a spatial Durbin model to analyze its effects on carbon emissions in the logistics sector.The findings reveal that e-commerce development in China has steadily increased in recent years,exhibiting significant spatial clustering with a dis-tinct"strong in the east,weak in the west"pattern.Moreover,there is an inverted U-shaped nonlinear relationship between e-com-merce development and carbon emissions in the logistics industry,with the current stage positioned in the ascending phase of the curve.Additionally,while e-commerce development directly affects carbon emissions in the logistics industry within its own province,it also exerts positive spillover effects on neighboring regions.关键词
