Abstract

Under the existing transportation conditions of China-Laos Railway,with the premise of ensuring passenger service capacity,this study proposed a freight train operation scheme to enhance freight transport revenue of China-Laos Railway,which considered the mismatch in operation time between China and Laos.The scheme targeted determining departure and destination stations,operation frequency,train composition,number of wagons per train,operation time slots,and other parameters.Based on the transportation characteristics and market demand of the China-Laos Railway corridor,an optimization model for the freight train operation scheme of the China-Laos Railway corridor was developed to maximize freight transport revenue,with constraints considered,such as unique route selection,passing capacity in section,number of wagons per train,and arrival time.The genetic simulated annealing algorithm was used to solve the model.A case study,utilizing data from the downward direction of the China-Laos Railway corridor,was conducted.The results show that the proposed optimization model can meet transportation demands while increasing freight transport revenue and can allocate operation time slots reasonably,validating the effectiveness of both the model and the algorithm.
